A book written about the years Mrs. Douglas spent from 1943 to 1960, a poignant description of how a well-educated girl, mother of a toddler, moved near Appleton with her husband to help on his parents' farm. The change from the New Brighton dream house to a farm with no running water was a true testament of her determination and love of family, especially when the years of help on the farm turned into seventeen years.
